Jackson and Mad Ants Part Ways

Fort Wayne, IN (April 11, 2009) -The NBA D-League’s Fort Wayne Mad Ants announced today that head coach Jaren Jackson and the team have mutually decided that he will not return as the Mad Ants head coach next season. Jackson was in his first full season with the Mad Ants as the head coach after taking the position full time last season when Kent Davison left to become the head men’s basketball coach of the Qatar national team.

Jackson will leave the team to focus on opportunities closer to his family in the Washington, D.C. area. Jackson had a 28-47 record in his one and a half seasons as the Mad Ants head coach.

“We are extremely thankful for Jaren’s contribution to the Mad Ants,” said Mad Ants President Jeff Potter. “He has been a played a big part in helping us establish ourselves in this community, and he has represented the team in an extremely professional manner. Obviously we all wished for more wins, especially with the type of talent we had this year, but we did experience some great moments this past season, and we wish Jaren nothing but the very best in his future endeavors.”

The Mad Ants have begun a nationwide search to fill their head coaching position. “We are going to cast a wide net and certainly be very thorough in this process,” said Potter. “Our fans are hungry for a winner, and we are going to leave no stone unturned in our quest to provide them with just that.”

The Mad Ants are currently taking season ticket orders for their third season, and fans can call 260-469-4667 to reserve their season tickets today.
