Center
Dennis Awtrey
Dennis Awtrey came to Phoenix along with Curtis Perry, Nate Hawthorne and a draft pick in
exchange for Neal Walk on Sept. 16, 1974. The center spent four
seasons in the Valley, including the 1975-76 "Sunderella" season,
and averaged 6.1 points and 5.4 boards a game. His first season was
his best, however, as he tallied 9.9 points, 8.6 boards and 4.2
assists a game that year. Prior to the 1978-79 season, he was
traded to Boston for a second-round pick and cash.
